Management Team

Sunetric’s management team is committed to developing renewable energy business models that work. As a local company, we know that there is no better place to for renewable energy than Hawaii — because our electricity costs are cripplingly high, because of our state’s generous state tax incentives, because our solar resources are unparalleled, and because our spectacular natural environment is a constant reminder of what is at stake in the battle to address climate change. Because solar energy makes economic sense for virtually all Hawaii businesses, we are able to partner with companies statewide to increase Hawaii’s renewable energy portfolio.

Sean Mullen — President

Sean Mullen is the president of Sunetric, a company he founded in 2004. Under his leadership Sunetric has grown from a start-up focused on residential solar electric installations into the largest commercial solar installer in the state. Along the way, Sunetric not only developed the largest rooftop solar system in Hawaii (an 803 kW installation at Kona Commons in Kailua-Kona), but also the state’s largest non-utility ground-mount photovoltaic system (a 353 kW installation at Wilcox Memorial on Kauai). The company has also received a series of contracts for the US military that provide a platform for continued growth into 2010 and beyond.

While maintaining the highest standards within Sunetric’s residential division, Sean has firmly oriented the company toward the commercial market and personally oversees each commercial project from design through utility interconnection.  Sunetric is well positioned to take advantage of the growth trend affecting the alternative energy industry.

Sean was introduced to the construction industry in 1997 when he took a position managing the engineering department for Gorgio Custom Pools in Pennsylvania.  Upon moving to Hawaii in 2001, he moved into the renewable energy field and became project manager for a local solar company. Sean received his journeyman electrician license in 2004 and personally holds both the C-13 (electrical) and C-61(solar energy systems) licenses.
